Tracey Emin's exhibition at the White Cube in London left me profoundly moved, as I deeply appreciate works that are emotionally rich. Her paintings are imbued with a striking emotional impact and an unrestrained honesty. Through loose yet powerful lines, layered textures, and recurring depictions of the female form, she conveys emotions of pain, longing, and vulnerability. I find it difficult to achieve such intense emotional expression in my own work, which tends to convey more subdued and tranquil emotions.

Each of her paintings feels like a release of emotion, capturing fleeting emotional moments while intertwining fragility and strength. I found myself unable to look away from the variously sized frames, completely immersed in the emotional atmosphere of her works. This made me curious about the relationship between Emin and her emotions—what kind of experiences enabled her to create such monumental pieces. It wasn’t until I saw the records of her battle with cancer which show after the painting that I began to understand the depth of her work and the profound emotions behind it.
