I really admire how the Black artist Frank Bowling incorporates mixed media into his works. His pieces are highly experimental, often using materials like resin and bleach on canvas to create rich visual textures. I believe texture is crucial in a painting, as it enhances the visual impact and transforms the artwork into a miniature universe. I've always been passionate about exploring the use of mixed media to add more texture to my works. Inspired by Frank Bowling's approach, I experimented with sprinkling pigment powder in my piece That Day We Ran by the Water, mimicking the visual effects created by bleach and allowing the fine particles to settle on the canvas.
